to express my sorrow and disbelief that "LambDog" is gone. I do take comfort however in the knowledge that he went out defending his countrymen. He & I shared alot of great experiences together in Panama. He spent many a nights & weekends at my apartment in Panama Viejo with my wife & I.

Lamberson was a great man and courageous paratrooper. He will be greatly missed. My wife Daysi also gives her condolences.

Kelsi,
You are an incredible person- gorwing stronger every day, just the way that your daddy did. I have never met you or your family but I became involved with the Snowball Express last year and have dedicated my life to help out and support our fallen Americans and their families. You are courageous and I think that you have an amazing family. I am sending you all of my prayers, love and support and hope that you enjoy and embrace this Holiday season. I think you have created a wonderful website and I am very proud of you. I know your whole family feels the same way. What  a beautiful young lady you have become - I know your "Daddy" is looking down with the proudest smile ever. Keep smiling and live your life to the fullest. Enjoy every day and make it count.
Much Love,
The Taber family Close

This website is both a wonderful testomony to the finest example of an American Patriot, as well as the wonderful spirit of love and hope as displayed by his family.  My brother is proudly serving with the 10th Mountain in Iraq right now, and I can only hope, if it is God's plan to take him, our family can show the strength and courage shown here!!  Take care all of you.

As luck would have it, I came into contact with MSG Gilmer while at work today.  I saw a 1/506th Guidon on his wall, and asked if he knew Randy.  We had a great discussion about him.  After speaking with him it brought back a lot of great memories of him, and some old stories.  We truly do live in a small world.

Your family is always in my thoughts and prayers.

Remembering Rand on this Memorial Day, unlike last year  / Dana Lamberson (widow)
The kids and I remembered Rand (and their father) in a different way than we did last year.  We went to Washington DC for a weekend with TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors),and spent time with fellow families of Fallen American Soldiers.  Among those were a group of widows from Fort Campbell, who graciously allowed us to visit their husband's graves at Arlington.  While there, we learned about the "stones or rocks" resting atop the grave markers.  They shared with us that visitors leave the stones as a symbol of visiting the gravesites.  Evan found some rather smooth stones from Arlington which we brought to his dad's gravesite.  Evan also brought along a gravel rock with yellow paint that he found at his school on Fort Campbell.  We laid all the rocks and stones atop Rand's grave marker to show that he had visitors.  Flowers come and go and with all the regulations out there, rocks are harmless to the environment, makes sense to me to leave the rocks as a symbol of visitation to Rand.  We snuggly placed in a row between the dirt and Rand's grave marker.  I hope the stones are still there as a reminder of our visit. While in Springfield, it was nice to read the article in the News-Leader about Rand's dad, Bill, reminscing about Rand's 58 Chevy; which brought back memories for me as well.  Thanks Bill for the memory.  Thanks Wes Johnson for the story and keeping Rand's memory alive for others to get to know him, whom have never met him.  Take care everyone, until next time,

Though a year has passed since Rand died, it's been longer for us as a family  / Dana Lamberson (widow)
Though a year has passed since Rand's death, it has been longer for us as a family since we last touched his physical presence, and know we will never again embrace him in his physical form.
Knowing Rand the way I do/did, he would not want us to create an "Anniversary of his death", but rather "Celebrate precious life moments that each of us shared with him".  Recalling fond, funny, embarrassing, amazing, never gonna happen again moments with Rand.  I have so many of those, it's too funny.  Like one time (at band camp, lol) he placed ice down the back of my shirt and held it there on my back; nothing but ice and my skin...cold.  Well, he didn't think this through very well because I was standing in front of the kitchen sink with a sprayer.  And as Rand was standing behind me basking in his latest "joke on me" prank, I turned the water to cold and waited calmly.  Then, I struck, I turned the ice cold sink sprayer over my left shoulder, and I heard a gasp, and the words; "What the f...." ?  I smuggly turned around, and simply asked, "Are ya done yet? I told you not to mess with me, your pranks never work on me because I always get you back worse than you get me."  I had to break out into laughter as I reveled in my work of self defense because standing before me was a five foot eleven man soaking wet from head to toe and water dripping from his nose, standing in a puddle of ice cold water in the middle of our kitchen.  I said, "That'll learn ya Ozark Boy" and walked off to get a towel.
I hope each of you will share funny stories, like the "Rat from Hell" from your Desert Storm Tour.  Whit and Orth made me laugh so hard the night they all told that story, craziness.  Looking forward to seeing you all this summer.  Remember to embrace the precious moments of life whice time has been so gracious to give us.  Dana Lamberson Close

Holy Easter Visit  / Margaret Dolson (friend)
Dear Dana, Kelsi and Evan,
We just arrived home from a visit to Clarksville with our son Doug, his wife and son, over Easter Weekend.
We thought of you All often while we were there.  We made
sure to have Doug bring us to The Memorial and we all offered
and silent prayer of "Thanksgiving" for All of you and Our
Special Hero Randy.  We also attended Mass at Immaculate
Conseption Church on Easter and offered our Masses for your
special intentions.  Hoping our next visit will be a little longer
and will call ahead to see if we can meet. I'll be emailing you
some photos we took while we were there as soon as I have a
chance to download them.
