Remembering Lambo a True Soldier and Friend from when life was Good.  / Coop Chavis (LRSD 101MI BN )
Dear Dana, Evan, and Kelsi,
I just found out today the sacrifice that your husband and father made for our country and our countries push for freedom outside of its boarders. I served with Lamberson and a bunch of other super soldiers in the LRSD 101st MI BN back when life was good for us all. Lambo was a good friend and his work was done only as a professional. Words cannot express my sadness as I sat here tonight listening that your husband/father paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Since I left the LRSD I have managed to loose other soldiers that have served the ranks with me here in civilian life; however it was while wearing the Thin Blue Line banner. Either way it is just as hard knowing and finding out that a Great Soldier or a Great Law Enforcement Officer has given the ultimate sacrifice for his/her country. I do wish I knew of Lambo's funeral; because I would have been there to pay respect for one of the LRSD Team members and a True American. May God Bless each of you for yor own sacrifice to this great country!!!! Missing Rand's Physical Presence on Thanksgiving Day 2006  / Dana (widow)

Here's to missing Rand's physical presence on Thanksgiving Day 2006.  We always played the "What am I thankful for on Thanksgiving Day".  I wish Rand's physical presence was still with us for years to come, but I know his spiritual essence is with us always and forever.  I am thankful that I can still feel his spirit around me daily. I am thankful for the 21 years and 5 days that we were committed to each other while building a life together within the military web. I am thankful for our beautiful & creative daughter, kelsi. I am thankful for our handsome & genius son, Evan. I am thankful for the foundation of life that we built with each other which helps me to continue to keep placing my best foot forward during this most difficult time in our life's journey.  I am thankful for each one of our military family members because of their embracing comfort and wisdom.  I am thankful for our family members who have chosen to stay the course with us throughout this tramatic event because they have helped me to stay strong and stay the course.  The kids and I have been and will be honoring Rand's memory by doing things that he would have done if his physical presence was still with us.  We will carry his spiritual essence with us always. Rand lives on in each memory that we choose to embrace and relive.  I sign off now saying thank you to each of you for being apart of our lives and staying the course.  Rand, here's to you and how we signed each letter that we ever wrote to each other:
Loving you forever always, your lady, dana

No words of mine can express the grief and anguish you must feel. I have had to face these emotions myself and at time can be overwhelming. Please take comfort in the fact that your father was a great man, a selfless man that in the end gave all that he could give so that others may someday have a change to grow up free from bondage and slavery from freedom. May God be with you to comfort you when it all seems unbearable. Be proud of your father, I sure I am. My prayers be with you and all those affected through the loss.

With upmost respect and sympathy,
Doug C. Close

Hi Kelsi,
A few weeks ago while you were at camp, my family and I met your mom at a restuarant. She mentioned this site that you had created in memory of your father. What a great way to honor his memory! I never had the privilege of meeting your dad, but from what I have read he sounds like a great man. I just wanted to write and let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The memory of your father and his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
God Bless,
Stacy Brown

One of the greatest men of all time.  With out a doubt the best american soldier.  I was an honor to work under him.  From day one he took care of me and even when he left to the 506th we worried about.  You will be missed.  Myself, Voils, Jones and Ecker sent 21 120mm rounds with your name on it down range in your honor.  I will see your grave to say my goodbye.  I know your watching me and i'm not worried about not returning home your still leading me in my heart.  Take care friend.  Good bye. The Man.  / Carey Jehnsen
I had the honor of serving with SFC. Lamberson in the 502nd  for about three years. I was his driver off and on for those years. He was a spectacular leader, commanding respect from not only his subordinates but also his superiors. He possesed a very strong character and a will to succeed, no matter the obstacles. Usually quiet and reserved, he operated with a minimum of theatrics and never asked his men to do something he would'nt or could'nt do. If his patience were tested though he could be a swift and severe disciplinarian. He never used his rank to benefit himself, many nights he pulled radio watch or guard when he could have been sleeping. He also defended his men as best he could from being exploited by other elements of our unit.  Besides these qualities, he was one hell of a domino player, and had one dry sense of humor. The man was a Savage. I miss you Sergeant.  Close

A great loss not only to the U.S. Army, but to the world...  / Michael Voils (Served under him during the initial push in 2003 )
This was an individual to whom discipline was second nature. He was a great soldier, and an even better leader. If it could be done in the Army, he knew how to do it. He had a rather dry sense of humor, sometimes random in its coming. He had a way of inspiring you to do more than your best, if for no other reason as to not call you "Mary." He will be missed by a great many. Best of all, he actually knew where Klamath Falls, Oregon sits.

There were those of us in the 2-502nd MTRS who could not be there for his memorial service or his burial, and for that we are deeply sorry. We saluted him the only way we had; we sent twenty-one mortars to rain down on the Iraqis in his name.

Served with your father from the initial push into iraq with 2nd batt 502nd inf reg (batt. mortars).  He was a great man, fair and just.  Someone whose teachings will never be forgotten.  Cant describe the respect and loyalty that i had for your father.  I am pretty damn sure that there was quite a few from our platoon, who just havent recognized this site yet.  Be proud of him, I know that we are.

I had the honor and privelege to serve with your father. I was on Team 4 as the ATL during Desert Storm. Even though I was not on his team, I always saw that he constantly set the example for others to follow. He definitly made others be  better men by just being around them. My prayers are with you and your family. Close

Serving with PFC/CPL Lambo during the Gulf War was an honor.  I was the Team Leader of LRSD TM 2 and he was the Team RTO.  I hadn't seen Lambo in 15yrs but it seemed like it had only been a few days since our last mission.
After attemding Lambo's funeral and meeting  his family I can say that although he was a successfull soldier, he was even more successfull as a father and husband.  I was very touched by his family and will never forget them or Lambo.  I will attach the black wrist band to my framed LRSD TM 2 photo in rememberance.

I don't know how to offer a more fitting tribute to SFC Lamberson other than to say this:

When I served as the 2-502 S-3 Air there was one NCO that I always requested to facilitate air assault training and PZ set-up; SFC (then SSG) Lamberson. He had that combination of competence, professionalism, and personality that made him a joy to work with. There was never a question that he would do the job and always do it right. Besides, there was no better person to be stuck with on a PZ for 24 hours than SFC Lamberson. He made life better for the soldiers and the officers who had the pleasure of working with him and provided all of us with a model soldier, husband, and father.

I am thankful that I had the time I did with SFC Lamberson and I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lamberson family. You should be proud of SFC Lamberson. Close

comforting thoughts  / Suellen Tritt (apprciative military family )

Do not stand at my grave & weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripend grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush.
I am the soft uplifting rush of
quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft starts that shine at night.
